Morrissey Boulevard – Boston Water and Sewer Commission

Green was responsible for Easement Acquisition and As-Builts for the Drain and Water Improvements for Morrissey Boulevard .  The Boston College High School boundary was surveyed and historical plan, deed and Massachusetts Land Court research was conducted to provide a sewer easement plan.  Locations of surface utilities were surveyed and as-built plans were prepared to strict Boston Water and Sewer Commission specifications.

JFK / UMass Station, Dorchester – Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority

Green recently completed a survey of approximately one mile of MBTA Red Line right of way centered at JFK Station.  The survey was needed for proposed signal and track upgrades in the area and third rail power required extensive schedule planning for each section.  It was vital not to disturb the train traffic during daytime hours by closing tracks down for survey, so Green developed a plan to survey critical areas during off peak night hours and supplement this with aerial photogrammetric survey for the remaining areas.  Planning and scheduling the ground survey around train traffic was key to this project’s success.

Cambridge Park Drive

Green performed deed research and completed a boundary survey for (4) four parcels of land with a combined area of 16.4 acres located on CambridgePark Drive in Cambridge, MA for Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. Green's surveying services also included utility research, establishing GPS horizontal and vertical control points for aerial photogrammetry, retaining and supervising an aerial mapping contractor, performing utility survey and performing partial on-the ground topographic survey to fill in "obscured areas" from the aerial survey. The survey work was performed in order to develop a complete engineering base map for master planning and design services relative to the redevelopment of the site. Because a large portion of the site is located in the Alewife Brook floodplain as determined by FEMA in the Flood Insurance Study for Middlesex County , the surveying effort also included developing a detailed delineation of the FEMA 100-year floodplain on site.

FEMA Riverine & Coastal Flood Studies

Green assisted CDM with a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Study of the main stem of the Blackstone River from Providence, Rhode Island to Worcester, Massachusetts, a distance of approximately 45 miles.  Green performed research and data collection to acquire plans of hydraulic structures from state and municipal agencies and performed survey on numerous bridges and dams for which no plans were available.  Green established control for the LiDAR survey and performed channel section survey in select locations, including bathymetric survey.  All survey work met FEMA’s Data Capture Standard and was processed in accordance with FEMA’s Guidelines and Specifications. Green also assisted CDM in uploading survey data to the Multi-hazard Information Platform (MIP).

BWSC Professional Survey Services

As of this date, Green has completed over forty assignments in various parts of the City of Boston under these five survey contracts. Since our initial selection in 2000, Green has been selected for five consecutive contracts, reflecting our excellent performance on these “Work Order” type contracts. Green provided services involving survey and basemapping directly for the BWSC's "in-house" design of drainage, sewerage and water works improvement construction contracts. Green completed field survey and provided AutoCAD base plans utilizing data collectors and utility record information in accordance with the latest BWSC ACAD mapping standards. Manhole inspections, including rims and inverts, were also completed as directed by BWSC’s project engineers. Green coordinated its work with BWSC project engineers and drafters to provide detailed base drawing information, including underground utility mapping, for design and construction in a timely manner. Many of these assignments had to be completed on an accelerated schedule. Green’s commitment to the client, responsiveness and ability to deliver quality products in a timely manner, have been major factors in why the BWSC has selected Green for five consecutive times.

Fenway Park

Green performed a property and topographic survey and prepared the plans and documents necessary to allow the Boston Red Sox to construct the Green Monster seats and to use Yawkey Way as an extension of Fenway Park on game days. Green met with representatives of the Boston Red Sox, D’Agostino Izzo Quirk, Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) and City of Boston Public Improvements Commission (PIC) to determine the requirements of the project. Green prepared an Engineering Report and a Discontinuance Plan with a metes and bounds description for PIC and a Taking Plan for the BRA for a section of Lansdowne Street, including air rights, to provide for the construction of the Green Monster seats. To allow for the Boston Red Sox to utilize Yawkey Way, Green prepared an Easement Plan, Specific Repair Plan and a Discontinuance Plan for  PIC, as well as a Taking Plan for the BRA.
